Although Terrabrowser is believed to be accurate, we urge you to only use it for recreational purposes. We make no guarantee as to the accuracy of the coordinate conversions, correct display of waypoints, accurate date representations, distance calculations, or any other critical aspect of the software. Use at your own risk.

If you are using a beta version of Terrabrowser 1.5*, you should be aware that many bugs still exist, features are not finalized (many still missing or broken), and support is extremely limited at this point.

System Requirements

Terrabrowser has been tested on the following versions of Mac OS X:

Terrabrowser version 1.5 beta:

• Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)*
• Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther)

*versions 1.5 b3 and later

Terrabrowser version 1.1:

• Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) - some cosmetic bugs
• Mac OS X 10.2.6 - 10.2.8 (Jaguar)

Cocoa Terrabrowser!

Terrabrowser is currently being re-written from the ground up in Cocoa. This is a complex process, and due to limited resources (mainly time), it will take a while to complete. A beta version is now available for download - see below for details. Thank you for all of your feature requests, bug reports, and your patience as we work on these. We will try to implement as many of your requests as time permits. Update: Terrabrowser is now open source.

Note that not all functions currently work (see above) and the registration numbers are different from those for version 1.1. If you are a currently registered user of Terrabrowser, you may request a new registration number for Terrabrowser 1.5 beta via email.

Due to some major new additions to the Cocoa frameworks, Terrabrowser version 1.5 and higher requires Panther (Mac OS X 10.3) or higher. So if you haven't gotten around to it yet, it may be time to upgrade your system! It's worth it - Panther is far superior to Jaguar (Tiger works fine as well).

Beta Notes

The GPS connection routines in this new beta version of Terrabrowser are not yet complete (ie: buggy), so please use the free Mac GPS Babel to download/upload your waypoints. If you save them as a GPX file, you can open the file with Terrabrowser and have it display your waypoints and tracklogs.
