Localization of Chimoosoft Software

Localized versions in your language!

Some Chimoosoft products have been translated into languages other than English by generous people from around the world. While localizations are greatly appreciated as they give our software a wider reach, please understand that localizing adds an extra burden for the developer.

Due to the extra work involved, localized versions will often be left behind when major new releases of a product come out because it is simply too difficult to change all of the localizations at once. After new versions have settled (feature wise), the localizations will be updated.

Localize a Product

If you are interested in localizing one of our products, please contact us first to make sure we are accepting localizations for the product and that someone else hasn't already submitted one. It would also be helpful if you could read through Apple's localization documentation to become more familiar with the process (refer to the links below).

Apple has several tools available which can help with the translation process. This Apple page has links to AppleGlot, various glossaries of already translated Apple software, AD Viewer, and AppleTrans. Using these tools is entirely optional, but if you're planning on translating lots of software, it may be worth your time to look into them. Alternately, you can use a simple and free tool like TextWrangler which supports the correct UTF 16 file format.

Currently Localized Products

To experience one of our localized products in another language, open the International pane of your System Preferences, click on the Language tab, and drag another language to the top. After doing this, launch one of our localized products.

Products which are mostly localized are listed as such in their download table. Some other products have various portions of them (version checking, etc.) localized using the same localizations from the completely localized products, but they are only listed as English.
